Gracious and Loving God,
This week many loved ones will turn
To you in worship and prayer.
Be with those families that have paid the greatest price.
Be with those who have lost a loved one.
Encircle them in your loving arms.
May they know that millions of Americans
Are praying for them.
Together may their sorrows be halved as we willingly carry this burden for them.
Fill us with compassion and grace.
In this mission of prayer we will never cease.
So be it and amen.
